Malmesbury Abbey, Wiltshire

Malmesbury Abbey is in Wiltshire . Only the nave survives. It has an amazing array of Norman sculpture in the porch and around the main doorway. It also contains the tomb of King Athelstan. Malmesbury Abbey was the home of St. Aldhelm; of William of Malmesbury, the famous historian; and of Athelmar, the monk who tried to fly!
