Bosham Church sits in an idyllic position on the edge of a small quay in Sussex. It is one of only a handful of identifiable places depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry. Easily recognisable is the massive chancel arch which survives to this day - one of the most fantastic pieces of Saxon architecture you'll ever see. King Canute had his favourite palace nearby and his young daughter is buried in the middle of the nave. It is suspected that an adjoining grave of an unknown Saxon warrior actually contains the body of King Harold who, after falling at Hastings, is said to have been buried on the seashore. The pictures on this page are cropped examples of images in our high resolution photo library.
