Glastonbury is a small town in mid-Somerset, these days best known for the annual music festival which takes place nearby. It is a very ancient place which grew up around the World famous abbey, supposedly founded by St. Joseph of Arimathea not long after the crucifixion. There are a number of medieval churches and chapels in the town, notably the fine parish church of St. John the Baptist and the extraordinary remains of St. Michael's Chapel on the Tor.
